Job Title: Intermediate Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our team at Equinox Engineering Ltd.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing key electrical documentation, including area classifications, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and load lists.
  2. Providing electrical input into detailed scope of work, design basis document, and project execution plan.
  3. Developing the electrical design for a project or proposal, determining detailed engineering design criteria, and analyzing vendor or subcontractor designs.
  4. Reviewing the work of others to ensure consistency and integrity of design throughout the project.
  5. Ensuring all discipline deliverables are checked and verified.
  6. Performing a lead role in the development of electrical MTOs and labour estimates.
  7. Providing electrical input for DBM, detailed scope of work, and PEP, coordinating with all concerned disciplines.
  8. Preparing engineering man-hour estimates and providing input into project schedules.
  9. Preparing and/or reviewing electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  10. Developing and evaluating electrical equipment and construction specifications.
  11. Performing engineering for procurement activities, including MRQ/MRP development, technical evaluation/recommendation, and vendor drawing approvals.
  12. Performing engineering development of Construction Work Package, including project description, construction specifications, IFC drawings, and material lists.
  13. Providing engineering support during construction, including field engineering, inspection, and special studies.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A P. Eng – Electrical Engineering degree.
  2. 5 – 9 years of electrical oil and gas experience.
  3. EPCM background.
  4. Experience in Oil & Gas facility projects, including heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities.
  5. Experience with various electrical codes and standards, such as CSA, IEEE, and API.
  6. Ability to coordinate other engineering disciplines.
