Job Summary

The City of Brampton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Outdoor Skate Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality skating lessons for participants of all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and safe skating lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse participants
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all participants
  • Supervise participants and maintain vigilance to minimize risk
  • Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff to ensure a positive experience
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to develop and implement program initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of age
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in hockey, figure skating, or power skating, or ability to skate at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

  • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification
  • Experience working with diverse populations and age groups
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
