Job Overview

The incumbent will oversee comprehensive financial governance and adherence to internal operational protocols for the divisions within the financial oversight team. The individual will analyze the Management Accounts to discern profitability factors and implement necessary measures to rectify shortcomings, ensuring that revenue and expense recognition is thorough and materially aligned with accrual accounting principles. The incumbent is responsible for managing Working Capital to minimize both current and historical Work in Progress ("WIP") and Accounts Receivable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
    1. Assess the effectiveness and execution of internal financial controls
    2. Contribute to the financial strategy and decision-making framework of the organization
    3. Evaluate client profitability structures; uphold the requisite quality standards concerning all transactions, projects, and clients approved by the Local Management Team
    4. Supervise significant transactions and evaluate their potential financial risks
    5. Develop and review intelligent monitoring and exception reports, ensuring that process discrepancies and non-compliant actions are identified, addressed, and rectified, while assigning and tracking accountability for corrective actions
  2. COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING
    1. Ensure adherence to IFRS and keep abreast of new accounting policy developments
    2. Prepare month-end consolidated management accounts and annual/interim consolidated statutory accounts
    3. Ensure timely delivery of management accounts in accordance with group standards, with a comprehensive understanding and explanation of drivers and necessary corrective actions
    4. Ensure timely compliance with all statutory and legal obligations in the relevant jurisdiction
    5. Reconcile management accounts with statutory accounts
    6. Manage the audit process and coordinate with external auditors
  3. OFFICE EFFICIENCY
    1. Primarily responsible for providing operational and commercial leadership for the offices.
    2. Drive the achievement of office financial objectives, roadmaps, and KPIs by advising and supporting local management of offices lacking local accounting or operational controllers
    3. Monitor the completeness and accuracy of time tracking for production personnel, assess their productivity, and ensure recovery of time spent, identifying reasons for deviations from minimum standards and necessary corrective actions
    4. Ensure thoroughness and adequacy of annual invoicing; timely and complete billing of work in progress while maintaining strict control over revenue loss through attempted write-offs
    5. Oversee client-rechargeable expenses and ensure that government fees are settled promptly upon client payment
    6. Strive to minimize accounts receivable
    7. Alleviate the administrative burden on offices by addressing inquiries and resolving issues, proactively engaging in problem resolution
  4. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Assume the role of director, trustee, nominee, manager, partner, secretary, authorized signatory, or any related position in internal entities or client entities of Amicorp Group, as required by Management
    2. Perform other duties related to the position as may be mutually agreed upon with Management
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field; must hold accounting qualifications (CPA/CA)
  2. Over 15 years of pertinent accounting experience in the Fund Services/Fund Administration sector; experience in a UK listed company is highly preferred
  3. Advanced proficiency in accounting and financial statement reporting
  4. Management accounting and analytical capabilities with the ability to identify issues and their resolutions rather than merely reporting
  5. Ability to discern when processes are functioning effectively and when they are not, along with the necessary corrective measures
  6. Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently amidst competing pressures
  7. Strong commercial acumen, proactive, independent, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  8. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  9. Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  10. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is advantageous
  11. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, solution-oriented, highly organized, and detail-focused with effective decision-making and time management skills. Hands-on approach with accountability for delivering solutions and results
  12. Ability to adapt and thrive in a smaller, dynamic local team environment while being part of a larger matrix organization. Proven leadership and teamwork skills, with a drive to excel in the role
  13. Experience with recognized accounting software for preparing financial statements
  14. Capability to work under pressure and in a dynamic, multicultural business environment
