About the Role

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a Personal Support Worker to join our team in Thornhill. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personal care and support to our patients, ensuring they can recover safely from an acute illness or remain in their homes throughout the aging process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, skincare, and light meal preparation, in personal residences or facilities.
  • Continually assess and respond to the changing needs of patients, communicating available resources to patients when appropriate.
  • Perform delegated and assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Travel within assigned regions between patients' residences or facilities.

Requirements

  • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program.
  • G2/G License with access to a vehicle.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching freely for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
  • Updated immunization record, including TB Test (last 6 months).
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
