Custodial Services Associate

The Custodial Services Associate engages with residents and visitors regularly. It is essential that they exhibit a warm demeanor and patience while demonstrating exceptional customer service in all interactions. Custodial Services Associates are tasked with the upkeep of resident and guest accommodations, ensuring cleanliness standards are upheld in all designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Notify supervisor when stock levels are low
  • Perform cleaning duties in shared spaces as assigned, including:
  • Shared restrooms
  • Entryways
  • Common lounges, kitchens, and laundry facilities
  • Hallways
  • Furniture and fixtures
  • Windows
  • Elevators
  • Storage areas

Conduct inspections of rooms for any damages or maintenance issues during cleaning and report findings accordingly. Ensure that rooms are adequately supplied with necessary amenities. Expected to clean an average of 15 guest rooms daily. Organize the housekeeping cart before concluding the shift. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and utilize protective equipment as mandated by regulations and Campus Living Centres (e.g., wearing appropriate footwear, securing hair, and avoiding loose clothing around machinery).
  • Complete online training modules and in-person training prior to commencing regular duties.
  • Complete WHMIS 2015 and GHS system training, along with standard operating procedures training, before starting regular responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks effectively
  • Possess a consistently positive attitude
  • Ability to collaborate within a team setting
  • Willingness to follow directions from supervisors

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
