Central Okanagan Public Schools (School District No. 23) is seeking a Custodial Services Associate to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our schools and facilities. This includes performing routine cleaning tasks, waxing floors, and ensuring adequate heat and light.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of schools and facilities
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting
  • Wax floors and ensure adequate heat and light
  • Assist school-based staff with locking or unlocking rooms, moving furniture and equipment
  • Maintain the recycling program

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 completion
  • Successful completion of the Building Service Worker (BSW) course or a comparable course/training
  • At least two years' experience in custodial services
  • Physical condition and health to carry out the required duties
  • Ability to understand oral or written instructions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and be a team player
  • Ability to complete a criminal record check

Benefits:

  • $26.74 per hour
  • 5% of bi-weekly earnings in lieu of vacation
  • 4.6% of straight time earnings in each pay period in lieu of statutory holidays
  • 10% in lieu of benefits when working 20 hours or more per week
