Position Overview:

The Pharmaceutical Compound Technician is responsible for the thorough cleaning, setup, and operation of manufacturing equipment involved in the compounding of pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete GMP documentation, including Batch Records and cleaning logs
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any incidents; assist in enhancing safety procedures
  • Compound products according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Master Formulas, promptly reporting any discrepancies
  • Dispense raw materials as necessary
  • Conduct accurate inventory management using SAP
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace, familiar with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure tasks and documentation are completed accurately on the first attempt
  • Complete all required training and maintain personal training records
  • Participate in Non-Conformance Investigations and complete Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
  • Assist in the training of new team members
  • Perform equipment start-up and shutdown procedures
  • Conduct verification checks on manufacturing equipment
  • Support Validation or Pharmaceutical Technology teams as needed
  • Notify supervisors regarding low inventory of equipment parts and consumables
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting is preferred

Educational Background:

  • University degree with relevant technical training
  • Post-secondary education in a scientific field is advantageous or a minimum of 5 years in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Willingness to learn and adapt through coaching

Working Conditions:

  • Overtime may be required, including weekends
  • Physical fitness is necessary, with the ability to lift at least 25 kg
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform bending tasks
  • Use of GMP garments and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
