Pharmacist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at JP Recruiting Agency.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for compounding and dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals, providing consultative services to clients and healthcare providers, and maintaining medication profiles of customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check prescriptions for proper dosage and compound-prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring, and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required.
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other healthcare professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage.
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers, including a registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs.
  • Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals, and other drugs and pharmaceuticals.
  • Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication.
  • Reneew existing prescriptions in limited circumstances.
  • May adapt the formulation, regimen, duration, or route of administration of medication.
  • May be required to supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff.
  • Develop information materials concerning the uses, properties, and risks of particular drugs.
  • Evaluate labeling, packaging, and advertising of drug products.
  • Promote pharmaceutical products to health professionals.

Requirements:

  • Certification by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and in good standing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing medical education.
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of health issues in patients of all age groups.
  • High on discipline, punctuality, courtesy, and ethics, have a strong moral compass and you are compassionate.
