About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of safe work procedures and training programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and investigations to identify and mitigate health and safety risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain OHS programs and policies.
  • Provide training and support to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on health and safety metrics and performance.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in health and safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations, including WHMIS and OHSAS 18001.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate health and safety risks.
