Imaging Informatics Coordinator

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator, Imaging Informatics to join our team at Surrey Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our informatics team, you will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine/Diagnostic Cardiology Information System(s) across various assigned sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop specifications, test dictionaries, and report formats for each Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine/Diagnostic Cardiology section, in collaboration with department staff.
- Prepare implementation plans for the Imaging Information System and Picture Archiving and Communication System, working closely with the Health Information Planning & Development (HIPD) team, vendor, and department staff.
- Coordinate the installation of interfaces and equipment with the HIPD team.
- Act as a liaison between the vendor application specialist and HIPD on various issues related to current and future requirements.
- Instruct users, including Radiologists, Technologists, and clerical staff, in routine operations, maintenance, and problem correction.
- Facilitate the development of changes and enhancements to the computer system(s) as required by changes or developments in department practice.
- Investigate and correct Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine/Diagnostic Cardiology computer system errors.
- Coordinate the maintenance of the database for the Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine/Diagnostic Cardiology Information System.
- Develop and maintain procedures and manuals for the department information system.
- Create various reports by designing report format, extracting relevant information, and printing the results.
- Participate in continuous Quality Improvement using established monitoring and auditing methodologies.
Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required. Five years' recent, related experience as a Radiological Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, inclusive of two years' recent, related information systems experience in the coordination, implementation, and maintenance of radiology information systems and/or picture archiving and communication systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of the applicable MI standards of practice and guidelines for MI clinical practitioners, organizational MI clinical and administrative workflows, PACS/RIS, general computer operations, and applications, as well as other hospital information systems. Demonstrated Project Management skills, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and deal effectively with clients, coworkers, physicians, other healthcare staff, and staff of external agencies.
