We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper or junior accounting technician to join our expanding team at Potentia Human Resources Inc. in Kelowna, BC. As a dynamic public practice accounting firm, we support a diverse range of clients across various industries.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare full-cycle bookkeeping, including GST, PST, and WCB returns.
- Interact with clients to gather necessary documents for bookkeeping and tax returns.
- Assist other staff members with office admin tasks as needed.
- Work closely with senior accountants to assist clients with their bookkeeping needs.
In this close-knit office setting, you'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with clients and serve as their primary point of contact.
Requirements- 3 or more years of senior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience, preferably in a public practice environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as Sage, QuickBooks, CaseWare, and Profile.
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office Suite, and exceptional Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking.
- The ability to thrive in a team-based environment, although you are self-motivated and able to function autonomously.
In addition to a robust benefits package, the salary for this position is anticipated to be $28-$32/hour and will be determined based on experience and qualifications. This role provides a flexible working environment that values family life and acknowledges the importance of balancing work and personal commitments.
