About the role
In the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as a Business Partner in Finance. Your role will involve synthesizing and delivering financial guidance to clients, acting as a strategic partner to help establish moderately complex financial processes that yield valuable business insights for informed decision-making. You will cultivate a robust understanding of business operations through analysis and discussions, distilling financial needs while building trust as a business partner. Additionally, you will spearhead various financial initiatives aimed at process improvements and performance measurement to effectively achieve financial and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a proactive business partner, comprehending the business strategy and delivering relevant financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Foster a business-partnering dynamic, balancing finance and business needs while providing moderately complex analysis and guidance to clients.
  • Consult with internal client groups, offering expertise and recommendations on special initiatives and unique business cases.
  • Advise clients on business and cost driver analysis, monthly forecasting, and the development of financial plans.
  • Champion management reporting and financial modeling, identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
  • Identify and map non-value-added processes, proposing meaningful improvements in efficiency.
  • Guide the development of financial plans, linking the financial planning process to enterprise-wide integrated planning.
  • Oversee the delivery of management reports containing quantitative and qualitative analysis, providing strategic insights into performance drivers.


Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or commerce.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in finance, business analysis, and strategy support.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial, legislative, and regulatory environments.
  • Understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Strong prioritization skills in a multi-demand environment.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in various software applications and planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional ability to gather and analyze information, synthesizing key elements into actionable recommendations.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • An MBA or professional designation (CA, CFA, CGA, CMA, CPA).
  • Experience with IFRS.
