Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Electrical & Controls Project Engineer or Technologist to enhance our team. This role will focus on the design, development, and execution of cutting-edge electrical and control engineering projects aimed at boosting productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients and colleagues to address operational challenges and facilitate system upgrades.
  • Conduct audits of industrial facilities and create preliminary engineering designs and cost estimates for electrical and control system enhancements.
  • Design low and medium voltage electrical power systems, including equipment specifications, motor control, grounding systems, and electrical room layouts.
  • Prepare and assess tender and construction packages, encompassing electrical and instrumentation drawings and installation specifications.
  • Complete the design of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including P&ID drawings and control system architecture.
  • Develop control strategies to optimize system performance and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
  • Conduct system testing, checkout, and commissioning.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in industrial automation engineering is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pulp & paper, mining, or chemical industries is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented while being a collaborative team player.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Registered as a P.Eng/EIT or AScT in British Columbia.
  • Knowledge of North American standards.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willingness to travel to domestic and international sites as required.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in consulting engineering.
  • Background in site audits, commissioning, construction, and startup processes.
