Heavy Equipment Crane Operator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Properly assemble, configure, and rig the crane with necessary components such as booms, extensions, and hook blocks.
  • Conduct lifts ranging from standard operations to intricate and exceptionally heavy loads.
  • Interpret load charts accurately, understanding all notes and warnings, and assess the crane's actual net capacity for various configurations.
  • Ensure the safety of apprentices during crane operations.
  • Secure and shut down the crane appropriately when not in use.
  • Maintain accurate records of service hours, safety reports, and other operational activities while on-site.
  • Perform routine inspections and necessary maintenance as required.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and remain vigilant of site conditions impacting crane operations.

Qualifications:

  • Active membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955.
  • Local residency or willingness to relocate, with no accommodation provided.
  • Possession of Red Seal Certification.
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License.
  • Experience operating cranes and heavy machinery.
  • Capability to interpret load charts effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic.
  • First Aid Training, H2S Alive, and CSO certification.
