Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Manage store operations encompassing customer service, retail floor activities, on-site donations, and merchandise processing.
- Conduct regular floor inspections to identify priorities and assign tasks to team members during morning briefings and throughout the day.
- Guide team members on company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of Team Members and Supervisors.
- Facilitate the hiring and orientation of Merchandise Processing and Retail Floor Managers.
- Collaborate with the Area Manager and Human Resources to develop performance improvement plans for team members.
- Ensure accurate completion of administrative documentation related to team members and lead all performance management discussions.
- Identify and report policy violations to the Area Manager and Human Resources, and conduct all necessary corrective action meetings.
- Manage the off-boarding process for team members, including conducting termination meetings and submitting necessary paperwork to Human Resources.
- Implement employee recognition initiatives and events.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in customer service areas, retail floor, on-site donations, and merchandise processing.
- Adhere to company guidelines to prevent theft and take appropriate actions when incidents occur.
- Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards, reporting them to the Area Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Handle workplace accidents, ensuring timely documentation and communication with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Area Manager, and Human Resources.
- Develop and manage the weekly schedule for Merchandise Processing Manager, Merchandise Processing Supervisors, Retail Floor Manager, and Retail Floor Supervisors.
- Verify the accuracy of weekly schedules submitted by team leaders.
- Create innovative strategies to boost store sales.
- Oversee store expense management and payroll to enhance business performance.
- Address customer needs effectively, including inquiries and complaints.
- Facilitate the planning and execution of promotional sale events.
- Responsible for the opening and closing procedures of the store.
- Maintain professionalism in all communications with peers, managers, and customers, including the use of the store intercom system.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure cohesive operations and production towards common goals.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Area Manager.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail management role with a focus on high-volume store performance.
- At least 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
- Experience in a thrift retail setting is advantageous.
- Commercial Acumen - Strong performance-driven mindset with an understanding of industry trends.
- Leadership - Empower Supervisors and Managers to propose enhancements, support them through challenges, and encourage learning from setbacks.

- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Ability to push and pull merchandise containers weighing up to 500 lbs.
- Exposure to dust during the entire shift.
- Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular interaction with customers and the public.
