Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
  1. Manage store operations encompassing customer service, retail floor activities, on-site donations, and merchandise processing.
  2. Conduct regular floor inspections to identify priorities and assign tasks to team members during morning briefings and throughout the day.
  3. Guide team members on company policies and procedures.
  4. Oversee the recruitment, selection, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of Team Members and Supervisors.
  5. Facilitate the hiring and orientation of Merchandise Processing and Retail Floor Managers.
Employee Relations
  1. Collaborate with the Area Manager and Human Resources to develop performance improvement plans for team members.
  2. Ensure accurate completion of administrative documentation related to team members and lead all performance management discussions.
  3. Identify and report policy violations to the Area Manager and Human Resources, and conduct all necessary corrective action meetings.
  4. Manage the off-boarding process for team members, including conducting termination meetings and submitting necessary paperwork to Human Resources.
  5. Implement employee recognition initiatives and events.
Health and Safety
  1. Maintain organization and cleanliness in customer service areas, retail floor, on-site donations, and merchandise processing.
  2. Adhere to company guidelines to prevent theft and take appropriate actions when incidents occur.
  3. Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards, reporting them to the Area Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  4. Handle workplace accidents, ensuring timely documentation and communication with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Area Manager, and Human Resources.
Store Management
  1. Develop and manage the weekly schedule for Merchandise Processing Manager, Merchandise Processing Supervisors, Retail Floor Manager, and Retail Floor Supervisors.
  2. Verify the accuracy of weekly schedules submitted by team leaders.
  3. Create innovative strategies to boost store sales.
  4. Oversee store expense management and payroll to enhance business performance.
  5. Address customer needs effectively, including inquiries and complaints.
  6. Facilitate the planning and execution of promotional sale events.
  7. Responsible for the opening and closing procedures of the store.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Maintain professionalism in all communications with peers, managers, and customers, including the use of the store intercom system.
  2. Collaborate with team members to ensure cohesive operations and production towards common goals.
  3. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Area Manager.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail management role with a focus on high-volume store performance.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  3. Experience in a thrift retail setting is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

  3. Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
  4. Ability to push and pull merchandise containers weighing up to 500 lbs.
Work Environment:
  1. Exposure to dust during the entire shift.
  2. Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  3. Regular interaction with customers and the public.
