About the Role:

The Supervisor - Retail Store is a brand ambassador and acts as a 'leader on the floor' in the store. They support the management team in achieving sales performance goals through exceptional customer service skills, product knowledge, and strong supervisory abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exceptional shopping experience and customer service
  • Act as a brand ambassador through a solid understanding of products
  • Process customer transactions and adhere to cash handling procedures
  • Assist customers with exchange and return procedures
  • Apply opening and closing store procedures
  • Prepare the store's messaging system for headquarters as needed
  • Communicate store information to district managers or other functions as needed
  • Assist with sales floor merchandising, marketing, and visual presentation
  • Receive and process company products accurately and efficiently, while maintaining a well-organized stockroom
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for team members and customers. Perform store maintenance tasks
  • Secure company assets by adhering to loss prevention policies and procedures
  • Act as a team leader by:
    • Driving sales through leadership skills on the sales floor
    • Aiding in the training and development of sales associates
    • Supervising store activities in the absence of the store manager and assistant store manager, including daily schedules and meal breaks
    • Participating in creating a positive, fun, engaging, and inclusive work environment
    • Leading by example, demonstrating Carter's values, and ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to store success by achieving desired results

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A background in management, team leadership, or supervision in retail is an asset
  • Energetic and enthusiastic team leader
  • A history of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to motivate others
  • Practical computer skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to move and replace displays, shelves, and fixtures in the store
  • Ability to frequently use ladders
  • Ability to stand for long periods

Availability:

  • A regular work schedule is required to remain an active employee;
  • Changes to availability must be approved by the store manager and will be reviewed based on business needs;
  • You must be able to work 8-hour shifts and up to 40 hours per week. You must be available to respond to business needs based on the scheduled schedule (days, nights, weekends, and holidays).
