Your Impact

The HOMES initiative offers supportive housing to individuals who have experienced homelessness and are managing mental health challenges. Team members assist residents in achieving personal aspirations and lead fulfilling lives within the community. We are looking for a Community Support Cleaning Coach to join our Mental Health team.

  • Contribute positively to the lives of residents living in various community apartment complexes.
  • Provide practical support to residents in developing independent living skills, focusing on cleaning, laundry, and organization.
  • Play a vital role in the mental health team that advocates for and supports clients.
  • Collaborate with residents in their homes and across diverse community environments.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and experience in social services, personal support, or life skills training.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in mental health, healthcare, developmental services, or concurrent disorders is essential.
  • A commitment to a 'recovery-oriented' and 'consumer-driven' approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and think innovatively.
  • Proven capability to engage with individuals facing diverse and complex health and psychosocial challenges.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently in client residences and community settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, aligned with the mission and values of Good Shepherd.
  • Fluency in a language other than English is advantageous.
