The Academic Advising and Career Specialist is a key member of the Tyndale University team, responsible for overseeing advising and career services for all students in Undergraduate and Graduate/Seminary programs. This role involves coordinating initiatives related to student success, academic advising, and career development.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of academic advising and career services
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student success and retention
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide academic advising and career guidance
- Plan and facilitate seminars and workshops on academic and career development
- Manage the Academic Advising and Career Services website and resources
- Represent the Centre at Tyndale events and collaborate with other departments to improve student support
- Undergraduate degree from a post-secondary program
- Preferred: degree or diploma in English, Communications, or Psychology, and physical and/or mental health first aid certification
- 2 years related experience, with ministry or counselling experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
The Academic Advising and Career Specialist will work in a general office environment with moderate to high levels of stress. The successful candidate will be able to respond to student inquiries with patience and diplomacy.
