BHSI is currently seeking a seasoned Business Systems Analyst to become a vital part of our IT team. This position will be based in our Toronto office. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in comprehending business requirements and the implications of system processing from our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). This role will collaborate with both business leaders and IT professionals to translate business needs into precise system requirements and technical specifications. You will work closely with delivery leads to ensure that EDW projects meet or surpass our business customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements through interviews, documentation analysis, and workshops.
- Create comprehensive business requirement documentation, use cases, mockup dashboard designs, and workflow diagrams. Organize and reconcile information from various sources, presenting it in a manner that business customers can review and approve.
- Facilitate and lead project meetings with both business and technology teams, coordinating efforts to gather requirements for multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Engage with geographically dispersed teams that include architects, business analysts, developers, and testers.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and promptly escalate any issues or risks.
- Participate in the development and execution of testing plans, documenting and addressing issues as they arise.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- At least 5 to 6 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role, supporting multiple projects and initiatives.
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in the insurance domain.
- Experience in the Commercial Insurance sector and familiarity with ISO admitted lines is advantageous.
- Proficiency with insurance policy platforms such as Duckcreek, Guidewire, Majesco, Insurity, or OneShield is a plus.
- Experience working with relational databases, XML files, data analysis, and SQL scripting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, subject matter experts, and vendor resources.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- A quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing environments and a strong customer service orientation.
