Sandbox Mutual Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling personal lines, auto, farm, liability, commercial, and injury claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Investigation: Investigate claims, establish adequate reserves, negotiate, and settle all claims in a satisfactory and equitable manner.
- Communication: Interpret and communicate the terms of the policy to insureds, claimants, and solicitors. Report claims information to senior claims personnel and/or VP, Claims on claims in excess of prescribed authority limits.
- Office Duties: Perform standard office duties and preparation and submission of reports (e.g., caption reports, detailed assessments).
- Industry Representation: Represent the company at local and industry functions and maintain satisfactory public relations with industry and community contacts.
- Risk Inspection: Inspect risks for underwriting information and/or to ensure loss prevention, submitting recommendations where necessary.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the industry and active involvement in completion of CIP, demonstrated by completing two Institute courses per year.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to note details, make accurate observations, and sound decisions.
- Strong interviewing and negotiating skills are essential.
