Job Title: Supervisor, Child Day Care

Job Summary:

The Commission scolaire francophone des Territoires du Nord-Ouest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Child Day Care to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Child Day Care Facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality care and education to children, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement daily programs that meet the goals and objectives of the Commission scolaire francophone des Territoires du Nord-Ouest, and the daily program requirements in the Child Day Care Standards Regulations.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of childcare staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care and education to children.
  • Child Care and Education: Ensure that children are always supervised, and that their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
  • Facility Management: Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy environment for children and staff, including the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate regularly with parents and staff, ensuring that they are informed of program expectations, activities, and their child's progress.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma and three (3) years of childcare experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of child development theories and practices, relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, child program development, implementation, and evaluation, standard office administration protocols, procedures, and best practices, confidentiality protocols, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Certifications: Current First Aid and infant/child CPR certifications, up-to-date immunizations, and Tuberculosis screening.

Working Conditions:

This is a highly sensitive position that requires verification of identity and a criminal records check. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Language: French required.
