Job Summary

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist is a critical role within RDJ Bakeries Ltd., responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality across our operations. This position plays a key part in maintaining our reputation for delivering exceptional crackers to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety and quality management systems.
  • Perform internal audits to verify adherence to standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and ensure effective communication.
  • Conduct validation studies to assess food safety risk and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accuracy in food safety and quality practices.
  • Participate in mock recall exercises and traceability activities to ensure preparedness and effectiveness.
  • Verify and maintain documentation of process steps, operator checks, and deviations to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other assigned duties to support the achievement of food safety and quality goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (Food Science) degree or Science-related degree or diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety management in food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in managing HACCP and food safety systems in a manufacturing environment against at least one GFSI Benchmarked food safety standard.
  • Internal audit training and practical experience.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Work indoors in a clean and well-ventilated environment.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting involved with occasional standing and walking.
  • Typing and computer work required.
