About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forecast Modelling Analyst to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our analytics team, you will be responsible for performing advanced analytics and generating insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Advanced Analytics: Use statistical and machine learning techniques to identify and quantify sales drivers, conduct what-if scenario analysis, and measure the causal impact of results.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with merchandising, forecasting, and promotions teams to ensure model predictions are consistent with business intuition, explainable, and efficiently integrated into processes.
  • Design and Build Tools/Reporting: Develop user-friendly and actionable tools and reporting that support business decision-making.
  • Manage Multiple Work Requests: Plan, track, and manage multiple work requests, including ad-hoc analysis, system/tool support, process improvement initiatives, and formal project implementations.
  • Ensure Forecasting Systems: Ensure forecasting systems, reports, and EUC tools are operational and support business processes; lead projects to implement new functionality, including automation.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert for forecasting processes and provide expertise and direction in special projects.
Requirements
  • 2-4 Years of Experience: 2-4 years of work experience in various roles within forecasting, analytics, merchandising, or supply chain.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data mining skills with the ability to summarize and deliver actionable insights or recommendations.
  • Technical Skills: Programming experience with Python, SQL, or VBA, and advanced technical skills in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Database systems.
  • Business Acumen: Business mindset with an understanding of the retail industry and effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
