Job Summary

The Registered Practical Nurse is a key member of our healthcare team, providing high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility. As a valued professional, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contributing to a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized nursing care to residents, adhering to established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing effective care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring residents' responses and reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to identify residents' needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care, including charting and incident reports.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, fostering open communication and teamwork among colleagues.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to resident safety, confidentiality, and infection control.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Registered Practical Nurse, preferably in a long-term care or geriatric setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Working Conditions

This position is located in a long-term care facility, where you will be exposed to various health conditions and germs. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing resident care and safety while maintaining a positive attitude and high level of professionalism.

Compensation

As a valued member of our team, you will be compensated in accordance with the collective agreement or non-union job band.
