Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve issues related to freight shipments, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Produce accurate freight loads for company aircraft, adhering to weight and balance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing freight, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enter freight data into tracking software systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with cargo acceptance, inventory control, and tracking of delayed baggage.
  • Complete daily sales reports and other required paperwork, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for accepting dangerous goods, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Perform daily facility opening and closing procedures, ensuring security and maintenance of facilities.
  • Uphold Wasaya Airways' Customer Care Commitments, providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience an asset.
  • Valid class G driver's license required.
  • Previous airline experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklift trucks.
  • Excellent communication and mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of waybill completion an asset.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently.
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet/email.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway an asset.
  • Experience with First Nations Organizations an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Overtime as required.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Transportation to and from YPL (out of YQT) provided, if needed.
  • Food and accommodations provided (rotational work).
  • Weekend work may be required.
  • Hazards associated with trade.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, oil, and fumes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. repetitively.
  • Manual dexterity required for desktop computer use.
