Role Overview

The Faculty Recruitment Coordinator will be instrumental in facilitating the hiring process for academic positions at University Canada West. This role involves close collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team and academic departments to ensure the effective recruitment and onboarding of distinguished faculty members who resonate with the institution's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with academic departments to assess faculty staffing requirements and position specifications.
  • Draft and finalize faculty job descriptions in alignment with Program Chair's directives, ensuring uniformity prior to publication.
  • Oversee job postings across various platforms, leveraging multiple recruitment channels to attract potential faculty candidates.
  • Coordinate and participate in faculty interviews, providing necessary support to the interview panel and gathering feedback.
  • Maintain recruitment documentation with precision, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and regulations.
  • Prepare employment contracts and related documents for successful candidates and ongoing faculty members.
  • Work alongside the onboarding team to ensure a seamless transition for new faculty hires.
  • Foster positive relationships with current and prospective faculty members.
  • Act as a primary contact for inquiries regarding faculty recruitment processes, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Maintain and update recruitment-related data spreadsheets with the latest information.
  • Manage faculty referrals and internal candidates, collaborating closely with academic departments to ensure data accuracy.
  • Continuously assess and enhance recruitment processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Organize and participate in events, job fairs, and hiring fairs to attract and engage top-tier talent.
  • Conduct training sessions for hiring managers and stakeholders on interview best practices, talent acquisition processes, and industry trends.
  • Keep abreast of current processes and procedures, including internal guidelines.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in recruitment and onboarding.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment coordination, particularly in academic or faculty recruitment is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing intricate recruitment processes and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and candidates.
  • Familiarity with academic environments and insights into faculty recruitment challenges and best practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of full-cycle recruitment.
  • Ability to handle all communications with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in recruitment coordination, human resources, or a related field is necessary.
  • Prior experience in a human resources or academic setting is advantageous.
