The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Smart Farm operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy, safety, and regulatory compliance of the Smart Farm, as well as ensuring the team provides exceptional customer service to stakeholders.
The Director will be responsible for implementing leading-edge farm production practices and technologies, leveraging data from sensors, devices, and software to inform decision-making. This role requires a strong leader who can foster collaboration with academic departments, industry partners, and other stakeholders to drive innovation and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Smart Farm operations team to achieve strategic objectives
- Develop and implement safety and regulatory compliance protocols
- Collaborate with academic departments and industry partners to drive innovation and productivity
- Leverage data to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes
- Manage a team of approximately ten and an annual budget of $2.5 million
- Strategic, visionary, and organized leader with experience in agricultural production and management
- 10+ years of experience managing teams, systems, and multiple stakeholders
- Background and understanding of the agriculture industry and primary production
- High performance standards and excellent work ethic
- Skilled in decision-making, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and prioritization
