Position Summary
The Investment Analyst will join the investment team within the GQG Private Capital Solutions (PCS) group, collaborating closely with portfolio managers and fellow team members to enhance the performance of PCS strategies. This role involves fostering a dynamic work environment, facilitating strong investment outcomes, and nurturing relationships with potential and existing investors, clients, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, network, and evaluate new investment opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and prepare investment memoranda for relevant Investment Committees.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, coordinating internal resources and third-party service providers.
  • Oversee, mentor, and develop incoming associates.
  • Assist in the negotiation, structuring, and review of legal agreements.
  • Develop and maintain investment models, portfolio data, and supporting analytics.
  • Identify key risks associated with the portfolio and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare quarterly portfolio reports for the Investment Committee and investors.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in conducting industry research, formulating and critically evaluating investment theses, and analyzing information.
  • Solid understanding of asset management principles, including investment management, operations, and accounting functions.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities, particularly in private equity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to devise innovative investment solutions.
  • Effective presentation skills and refined verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound business judgment with the ability to make informed decisions based on timely analysis.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in alternative private capital investment strategies.
  • Prior responsibilities should encompass research, origination, negotiation, structuring, and corporate finance transactions.
  • Extensive experience in complex financial analysis, modeling, and company valuations.
  • Preferred qualifications include an MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), Masters in Finance, or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.
