Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our childcare centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement child-care programs that meet the unique needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support the development of children
  • Encouraging children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engaging children in activities through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guiding and assisting children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and preparing reports for parents or guardians
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
Requirements:
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
