Job Title: Registered Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young children.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement engaging child-care programs, engage children in activities, and establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
