Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Specialist to provide exceptional care and support for children in a nurturing environment. This role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the well-being and development of children.

Employment Details
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 70 to 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years or equivalent experience
Work Environment
  • Non-smoking household
  • Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (not a condition of employment)
  • Staff accommodation provided
Key Responsibilities
  • Change diapers and prepare infant formulas
  • Assume full responsibility for household duties in the absence of parents
  • Travel with the family on trips, assisting with child supervision and household tasks
  • Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
  • Discipline children according to parental guidelines
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social skills
  • Maintain records of daily activities and health information
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Organize activities such as games and outings
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals
  • Supervise and care for children, including transportation to school and appointments
  • Support the emotional well-being of children
  • Assist children with homework
Qualifications
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
