Your Contribution

Our Edmonton office is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical oversight in project management and the execution of geotechnical investigations and analyses for projects ranging from simple to complex.
  • Draft and/or review geotechnical reports, specifications, and other deliverables for various projects, including energy, institutional, transportation, industrial, commercial, communication, and residential sectors, demonstrating strong technical writing skills.
  • Design tailored field investigation programs and laboratory testing protocols to meet project requirements.
  • Conduct slope stability analyses and design shallow and deep foundations.
  • Perform settlement analyses.
  • Utilize computer-aided design and analysis software for geotechnical assessments.
  • Carry out site visits and investigations to assess challenging conditions and support field personnel.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and report writing.
  • Review submissions and reports prepared by junior engineers.
  • Build and maintain client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, acting as a technical advisor and participating in project meetings.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Promote and adhere to Englobe's health and safety protocols.

Your Profile

  • University degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 15 years of substantial experience in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations, foundation design, slope stability, and on-site construction review.
  • Proven organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to provide technical management to a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Experience with dam projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with soil nailing and rock bolting techniques is beneficial.
  • Experience in deep excavation design is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills, essential for fostering client relationships.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Standards and familiarity with local and regional geology.
