About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Englobe. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and leadership on geotechnical investigations and analysis for engineering studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project management teams on geotechnical investigations and analysis.
  • Develop and review geotechnical reports, specifications, and other deliverables related to various geotechnical projects.
  • Design project-specific field investigation programs and laboratory testing programs to meet deliverable requirements.
  • Conduct slope stability analysis, shallow and deep foundation designs, settlement analyses, and geotechnical assessments using computer-aided design and analysis software.
  • Conduct site visits and investigations to evaluate difficult conditions and assist field staff.
  • Contribute to proposal development and write reports.
  • Review proposals and reports prepared by junior engineers.
  • Foster client relationships throughout the project life cycle and participate in internal and external project meetings.
  • Provide leadership and technical mentoring to younger team members.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.
Requirements
  • University degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering, with a Master's degree being an asset.
  • 15+ years of solid geotechnical engineering experience in geotechnical-related work, including site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability, and on-site review of construction activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical management to a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Dam experience is an asset.
  • Soil nail and rock bolt experience is an asset.
  • Deep excavation design experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Must understand Canadian Standards and be familiar with local and regional geology.
