Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Philosophy Professor to teach part-time at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering courses in moral reasoning and ethics, as well as mentoring students in their academic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver courses in moral reasoning and ethics, including lectures, discussions, and assignments
  • Mentor students in their academic pursuits, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of philosophy and ethics, incorporating new ideas and perspectives into course materials
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum changes
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives as needed

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Philosophy or a related field
  • Experience teaching at the university level, with a focus on moral reasoning and ethics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to academic excellence

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work on a part-time basis, teaching courses in moral reasoning and ethics. The position will involve a combination of lectures, discussions, and assignments, as well as mentoring students and staying up-to-date with developments in the field.
