Our Ideal Candidate

We seek an Infrastructure Project Engineer with expertise in municipal land development and infrastructure to join our Corner Brook team. As the chosen candidate, you will collaborate with a team to plan, coordinate, and implement a diverse range of civil engineering projects.

A Day in the Life

  • Oversee various projects, including infrastructure enhancements and land development initiatives, focusing on the design and construction of water, sewer, stormwater, earthworks, and transportation systems.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and designers, ensuring the delivery of preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct project cost estimates, analyses, calculations, design reviews, and prepare reports, proposals, and contract documentation.
  • Cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Engage directly with clients, team members, contractors, and other stakeholders to clearly articulate project requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure project completion within designated timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Develop a comprehensive work plan that outlines schedules, milestones, controls, and risk factors.
  • Proactively address performance, scope, and scheduling challenges as they arise.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Newfoundland.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering and project management.
  • Experience in materials testing (soils, concrete) and/or structural design and analysis is advantageous.
  • Strong project management, technical, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient technical writing skills demonstrated through the preparation of correspondence, reports, and proposals.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, and active listening.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team; capable of mentoring junior engineers and designers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
