Role Summary

As a Senior Fullstack Developer within our Core Squad, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative products that cater to both our partners and users. You will apply your extensive knowledge in both frontend and backend development, utilizing advanced technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, and React. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing robust integrations with suppliers through APIs and SDKs, ensuring a seamless data flow and user experience. With a strong emphasis on MongoDB and PostgreSQL, you will contribute to the creation of scalable, high-performance applications. Working closely with Product Managers, you will significantly influence our product roadmap and deliver value to our users.

Work Arrangement: This position allows for a flexible work environment, primarily remote, with the expectation of being present in the Montreal office one day per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the complete design, development, and deployment of both frontend and backend solutions.
  • Establish and maintain integrations with suppliers utilizing REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Develop and enhance database solutions using MongoDB (strong experience required) and PostgreSQL (proficiency required).
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to gather requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver impactful features that users will appreciate.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure code quality, simplicity, and long-term maintainability through thorough code reviews and adherence to best practices.
  • Propose and implement well-regarded technical designs for large-scale projects, considering usability and user experience.
  • Facilitate sprint retrospectives and incident post-mortems to promote team introspection and enhancement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, understanding how your contributions align with business-level strategic initiatives.
  • Balance practical solutions with technical excellence, knowing when to advocate for certain approaches and when to find compromises.
  • Quickly engage the right individuals to discuss options and escalate as necessary when faced with challenges or changes in scope.
Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in implementing Backend and Frontend solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in backend development with a strong grasp of modern frameworks and technologies, particularly MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in frontend development, with the capability to swiftly implement features and interfaces.
  • Thorough understanding of FCP, LCP, TBT metrics with a solid knowledge of web performance.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and SDKs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset.
  • Proven track record of owning significant technical projects from conception to deployment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with product managers and other stakeholders.
