Executive Director Opportunity

The Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses seeks a dedicated and compassionate Executive Director to lead our organization in providing essential services to women, children, and youth affected by violence.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in social work, non-profit management, or public administration. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of intimate partner violence, gender-based violence, and the systemic factors that impact women's safety and human rights.

The Executive Director will be responsible for managing change associated with organizational growth, transitions, and social services evolution. They will also work closely with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure our services meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the organization in providing safe shelter and supportive programs for women and their children
  • Develop and implement strategies to address intimate partner violence and gender-based violence
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, stakeholders, and community partners
  • Manage change and transitions within the organization
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices
Requirements
  • University-level degree in social work, healthcare administration, or equivalent
  • Combination of education and experience in non-profit management, social service work, or public administration
  • Strong understanding of intimate partner violence, gender-based violence, and systemic factors
  • Ability to manage change and transitions
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
