Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck and Transport Mechanic to join our team at Smook Contractors Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, including adjustments, repairs, and replacements of parts and components.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, and confirm findings with supervisors to determine the best course of action.
  • Quality Control: Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications, and ensure that all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including coaching and instructing apprentices, and completing reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification, Truck-Trailer Repairer Trade Certification, and other relevant certifications.
  • Skills: Excellent mechanical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
