To meet the dynamic demands of our diverse clientele, we are seeking a dedicated Saw Department Supervisor to enhance our operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and oversee production schedules for saw operations to guarantee timely delivery and optimal utilization of equipment for material sectioning needed in forging, testing, and machining.
- Coordinate production activities on plate saws to ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
- Prioritize and manage tasks for Raw Material and Saw material handlers, including unloading deliveries, inspecting raw materials, and transferring necessary materials for various operations.
- Plan and schedule grinding operations for raw materials based on priorities set by the Materials team.
- Maximize operational uptime across all relevant machinery.
- Identify causes of scrap and rework, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Oversee the management of scrap processing within the department.
- Conduct interviews and hire new personnel; perform performance evaluations, guide training and development initiatives, recommend salary adjustments, and enforce disciplinary actions when required.
- Train team members on the implications of their work on subsequent production stages.
- Control departmental costs effectively.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout processing activities.
- Supervise the condition of saws and related equipment, collaborating with operators and maintenance teams.
- Work alongside maintenance personnel to identify improvement opportunities that can enhance throughput.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A high school diploma is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven organizational, planning, coordination, and prioritization skills.
- Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
