Job Title: Production Planning Specialist at Leonardo DRS

  • Under the supervision of the Planning Manager, the Production Planning Specialist will undertake various operational tasks to assist the Production Planning team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to guarantee prompt delivery to clients.
  • Monitor materials from order placement to goods receipt and generate material status updates.
  • Oversee work orders on the production floor and compile Work in Progress reports.
  • Participate in material and production review sessions.
  • Initiate, release, and manage work orders effectively.
  • Adjust plans in response to scheduling or material modifications.
  • Ensure timely return of materials to clients to facilitate efficient processing of Non-Compliance Reports.
  • Act as a liaison between Programs and Manufacturing departments.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Currently enrolled in a Business Administration or Supply Chain and Operations Management program at an accredited post-secondary institution, or possess equivalent educational credentials.
  • Practical experience through internships or work placements is a plus.
  • Active participation in or completion of APICS certification is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MRP is essential.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply knowledge in product structures, configuration management, contract terminology, and ISO standards.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in MS Excel and Access.
  • Exceptional communication abilities (both written and verbal) with the capability to produce standard reports.
