About the Role

Xpera is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to join our Transportation Equipment & Cargo (TEC) unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex claims related to transportation equipment and cargo.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and adjust claims related to physical damage to power units, trailers, equipment, and cargo
  • Investigate and resolve theft and fraud claims
  • Handle environmental impairment claims related to fuel spills and transport-related spills of other pollutants
  • Conduct subrogation investigations and negotiations
  • Manage liability and bodily injury claims, including accident benefits
  • Work with clients to develop a comfortable working relationship and ensure a swift and successful resolution to claims
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in handling TEC claims
  • Experience in the transportation industry
  • University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance
  • Adjuster's license, or currently pursuing CIP designation
  • Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause and effect dynamics
  • Good investigative manner
  • Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature
  • Advanced communication skills, including effective written and oral skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and customer service
