Xpera is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to join our Transportation Equipment & Cargo (TEC) unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex claims related to transportation equipment and cargo.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and adjust claims related to physical damage to power units, trailers, equipment, and cargo
- Investigate and resolve theft and fraud claims
- Handle environmental impairment claims related to fuel spills and transport-related spills of other pollutants
- Conduct subrogation investigations and negotiations
- Manage liability and bodily injury claims, including accident benefits
- Work with clients to develop a comfortable working relationship and ensure a swift and successful resolution to claims
- Minimum 5 years of experience in handling TEC claims
- Experience in the transportation industry
- University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance
- Adjuster's license, or currently pursuing CIP designation
- Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause and effect dynamics
- Good investigative manner
- Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature
- Advanced communication skills, including effective written and oral skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and customer service
