Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our Mine Planning Team, you will be responsible for creating 12-week integrated mine plans, 24-month rolling forecasts, and project schedules for ongoing projects. You will also facilitate weekly and monthly meetings to communicate the mine plan to key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date mine plans, forecasts, and schedules
- Collaborate with the site team to prepare weekly plans and ensure effective execution
- Design and implement waste dumps, stockpiles, haul roads, mine pits, sumps, and ramps
- Conduct case studies and write technical reports
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff members
- Ensure compliance with corporate charter and values
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in mining engineering, preferably in an open pit mine or project environment
- Professional engineering designation (P.Eng.) is an asset
- Experience with project scheduling, execution, and mine design
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership, planning, and organizational skills
