About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join our team at SOi. As a Construction Labourer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from construction sites.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Mixing and Pouring Materials: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Assisting in Pipeline Construction: Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
  • Demolition and Debris Removal: Assist in demolishing buildings and removing rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance work and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Operating Equipment: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
  • Site Safety: Direct traffic at or near construction sites and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: The role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Attention to Detail: You must be able to pay attention to detail and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately.
  • Team Player: You will be working as part of a team, so excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Weight Handling: You must be able to lift and handle materials up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Personal Protective Equipment: You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and ear plugs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience in a construction labourer role is an asset.
  • Education: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
