Job Description

BQ International Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Server Infrastructure Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and administering various components of our VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server, and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement and administer server infrastructure components, including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server, and Microsoft Azure.
  2. Develop and maintain server infrastructure standards based on industry best practices.
  3. Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless integration of server infrastructure with other systems.
  4. Provide expert technical support for server infrastructure, including troubleshooting and resolution of system problems.
  5. Manage and maintain server disaster recovery, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
  6. Develop and maintain server patch management processes and procedures.
  7. Ensure systems integrity through change control and problem management procedures.
  8. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of team standards.
  9. Act as a representative of the Networks & Infrastructure department.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years of recent and practical server administration experience.
  2. Valid class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License (or equivalent).
  3. Willingness to travel outside of Regina, including occasional overnight stays.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Proven competency in Microsoft on-premises server implementation and administration.
  2. Proven competency in Microsoft Azure administration.
  3. Proven competency in VMware vSphere administration.
  4. Proven competency with server, storage, and cloud storage security best practices.
  5. Proven competency with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) administration.
  6. Experience in influencing and establishing collaboration direction within an organization.
  7. Understanding of enterprise-level on-premises server and cloud architecture.
  8. Understanding of integrations of an on-premises environment and the cloud.
  9. North American job experience.
Contract Duration

The Contract will be effective for an initial term commencing on the date of award and ending on March 31, 2025. The Contract will automatically renew for successive one-year terms, a maximum of four times, unless the Contract is terminated in accordance with its provisions or by either party, at least ten business days prior to the expiry of the then-current term, providing the other party with written notice of its intent to terminate the Contract upon the conclusion of the then-current term.

Interview and Reference Checks

An award is conditional upon Vendor obtaining, at its cost, a current (within 6 months) Criminal Reference Checks (CRCs) for each proposed resource, satisfactory to SaskEnergy. CRCs shall be retained by the Vendor and are subject to inspection by SaskEnergy. SaskEnergy Photo Identification and access badges are required for any resources requiring independent or unaccompanied access to SaskEnergy sites in order to provide the Services contemplated in this bid.
