Information Technology Instructor for Business Applications

About the Role
The University of Ottawa seeks a dynamic and experienced Information Technology (IT) Instructor to deliver an engaging course focused on the applications of IT in various business functions. This role will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how technology tools can support operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making within organizations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and interactive learning experiences that effectively convey the principles and applications of IT in business.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, group projects, and hands-on exercises, to facilitate student understanding and practical application of concepts.
- Assess student learning through assignments, quizzes, exams, and other appropriate evaluation methods.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their work and progress throughout the course.
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Qualifications
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or a related field with a strong emphasis on information technology applications.
- Demonstrated professional experience in utilizing IT tools within various business functions, such as marketing, sales, finance, and human resources.
- Solid understanding of spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel), database management systems (e.g., Access), and collaborative communication platforms.
- Proven teaching experience, preferably in the area of information technology for business.
