Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role is integral to the financial operations and reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering financial accounting, reporting, and control support across various sites in North America. Key responsibilities include managing month-end processes, performing balance sheet reconciliations, conducting financial analyses, and driving process enhancements.

  • Oversee and finalize month-end closing activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Evaluate balance sheet variances and take charge of the Fixed Asset management cycle in Canada.
  • Manage account mappings and participate in inventory assessments.
  • Execute revenue audits while ensuring adherence to established accounting standards.
  • Work collaboratively with global shared services and finance teams to maintain process uniformity.
  • Engage with the FP&A team to analyze budget variances and provide valuable insights.
  • Lead initiatives for Continuous Improvement and assist in both internal and external audit processes.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA designation is preferred.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in Assurance, Audit, or Controllership, with a preference for candidates with manufacturing industry experience.

Skills and Competencies:

Demonstrated strong organizational and communication abilities, proficiency in SAP and Hyperion software, and capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Physical Demands:

Requires light physical effort, may involve occasional operation of equipment, typically performed indoors.
