Part-Time English Language Educator Needed

Are you passionate about literature and dedicated to helping young learners excel across various subjects?

We are on the lookout for part-time educators to join our team at Oxford Learning Centres, Inc.. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, teaching language arts, and social studies, and are committed to fostering skill development in these areas.

At Oxford Learning, our educators do not need to prepare lesson plans in advance, as all instructional materials are provided. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies.

Position Requirements:

All educators at Oxford Learning work 2-5 days per week during after-school hours, Monday to Friday (3:30 PM - 6:30 PM), with potential Saturday morning shifts (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM). Training will commence in the mornings or afternoons and will continue into the academic year.

Reliability is essential, and your students will appreciate your dedication.

This position is in-person, and candidates must be able to commute to the designated location. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

We encourage applicants who meet most of the following criteria:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with substantial tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 9 (or equivalent) level
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to enhance students' comprehension
  • Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Details):

As an Interactive Coach, you will engage directly with students and be responsible for:

  • Instructing up to three students at varying levels
  • Delivering lessons both online and in-person
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson reflections
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times
