Part-Time English Educator Needed

Are you passionate about literature and dedicated to fostering academic success in elementary students?

We are on the lookout for part-time educators to join our learning center. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, teaching language arts, and social studies, and are committed to enhancing students' skills in these subjects.

As an educator at our center, you will not need to prepare lesson plans in advance, as all lessons are provided. Comprehensive training in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies will be provided to all new hires.

Position Requirements:

Our educators typically work 2-5 days a week during after-school hours, Monday to Friday (3:30 PM - 6:30 PM), with potential Saturday morning shifts. Training will commence in the mornings or afternoons and will extend into the new academic year.

Reliability is essential, and your students will appreciate your support.

This position requires in-person attendance. Candidates must be able to commute to the designated location. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

We invite you to apply if you meet the following qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with substantial tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum

Experience:

  • Some background in teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 9 level
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to facilitate student understanding
  • Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities:

As an Interactive Coach, you will engage directly with students and undertake the following tasks:

  • Instructing up to three students concurrently at varying levels
  • Delivering lessons both online and in-person
  • Adhering to our established teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times
