As a Water Truck Driver with Volker Stevin Contracting, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water trucks. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain gravel and clay road surfaces at optimal moisture content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a water truck and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
  • Start, operate, and shut down equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow directions from supervisors to ensure work areas are properly prepared.
  • Filling the truck tank with water and spraying water in designated areas.
  • Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness.
  • Train new employees in the safe operation of a water truck.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and construction-related duties as required.

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of water truck and road construction equipment operations.
  • Understanding of road construction materials, processes, and industry requirements.
  • Knowledge of equipment controls and electronics.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience in related construction activities.
  • Class 5 license with a clean abstract.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a mainline excavator operator.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
