Job Summary

The School District #50 (Haida Gwaii) is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bus Driver to transport students along the Skidegate to Port Clements route. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate school buses to transport students within the district
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of school buses
  • Work under the supervision of the Manager of Operations and take direction from Principals and individual teachers
  • Interact with students in an effective manner
Qualifications
  • Grade 10 graduation
  • Valid BC Class 2 Driver's License
  • One year related experience
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties
  • Willingness to obtain Worksafe BC Level 1 First Aid and various training as directed by the Manager of Operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Haida and/or other Indigenous ancestry
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Haida culture
